Application Engineer - Location: Rotterdam, NY - Permanent Position
The Ideal Candidate will have experience working with customers and vendors to assemble the necessary information to provide accurate quotes for costs and manufacturing schedules for custom electro/mechanical cabinets. You will have experience working in a manufacturing environment dealing with vendor procurement and supporting a global supply chain. You will have the ability to work with our customer’s engineering team to identify parts, components, and assemblies that could result in lower manufacturing costs.
Responsibilities:
· Clear cross-functional communication and engagement between Engineering, GCLs, Contact Manufacturers, Suppliers and other groups as required.
· Drive efficiency in the design process by providing Engineering support in the following areas:
o To implement cost reduction activities in a variety of complex subsystem components.
o Provide support for new components. Including, evaluating engineering requirements and selecting potential suppliers, manufacturers and/or OEMs.
o Identify alternate sources of supply for existing components.
o Obtain initial production cost quotes for components used in new products.
o Track bill of material (BOM) costs for engineering to help achieve system level product cost requirements.
o Contact suppliers to negotiate cost reductions based on existing quotes.
o Act as the interface between engineering and suppliers.
o Interface with global factories to obtain quotes for related activities.
· Review, compare and address global component cost disparities to ensure similar pricing for similar items between global factories.
· Maintain approved vendor lists on new and existing programs.
Basic Qualifications:
· Engineering or technical degree from an accredited university or college
· Experience putting together quotes and delivery schedules for manufactured commercial electro/mechanical equipment.
· Strong oral and written communication skills
· Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
· Effective problem identification and solution skills
· Proven analytical and organizational abilities.

Manufacturing Warehouse and Logistical Support - Location: Schenectady, NY 12306 - Full-Time Position
deal candidate for this person will have worked in a manufacturing facility supporting the shipping and receiving department. You will be working with a team of fabricators, designers and engineers that create sheet metal panels / cabinets for industrial breakers, switch gears and controls. Your high energy and attention to detail will help this team continue to grow as it ships and receives more equipment daily.
Required Qualifications:
· Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
· High School Diploma, Technical Degree highly desirable.
· Able to lift over 40 lbs.
· Experience in Shipping and Receiving.
· Good Computer Skills including but not limited to MS Word, Excel and various Online Programs required to support ABB customer requirements.
· Inventory control experience.
· Experience with forklift operation.
· Experience with basic hand tools as well as handheld and bench mounted power tools.
· Organized
· Self-motivated.
· Dependable.
· Valid Driver’s License

· Prepare shipments for consignment, to include the building of crates/skids utilizing drill-driver, impact wrench, table saw, miter saw, band saw, bench grinder and drill press.
· Handle all incoming and outgoing materials utilizing pallet jacks, forklifts and multi-ton casters.
· Create shipping documentation utilizing MS Word, Excel and the internet.
· Track shipments with for all carriers including LTL, TL and package carriers via internet.
· Interact with and support the Export Compliance and Control Team.
· Receive inbound materials, maintain individual inventories for all production projects, maintain all project

· Communicated status of projects and materials to customers, engineers, management and technicians.
· Help Support the HazCom program for the facility, including chemical inventory maintenance, secured approval for new substances and maintained SDS.
· Support running the waterjet for the manufacturing of various parts.
· Support CAC Overall Manufacturing Facility.
· Inventory Control of Breaker Parts.
· Delivery / Pickup of Materials from local customers / suppliers.
